Le Brea Bubblegum Pits
Long before the days of oil, the dinosaurs had other sticky situations to worry about. A dinosaur discovered a rubber tree and decided to see what it tasted like. To its delight, the tree was chewy and the dinosaur could gnaw on it for hours on end. Word spread of this discovery and before they knew it, dinosaurs everywhere where chewing on rubber plants. Unfortunately, they were also spitting it out everywhere too. Some of the gobs were so big due to the largest dinosaurs chewing that smaller dinos would get stuck and eventually meet their untimely demise. Although rarely known amongst the masses today, paleontologists would come to know these areas as the "LeBrea Bubblegum Pits".
"Le Brea Bubblegum Pits" is an original acrylic painting made by me. I painted it on a gallery width canvas which is 1.5" thick and required no framing but can be framed if you choose. The image itself is 16"x20" but unfortunately does not stretch larger or can be formed into a bubble.
